I am loneliness…

When I tried to run,
you bound me.
When I tried to hide,
you found me.
When I tried to breathe,
you strangled me.
When I tried to speak,
you wrangled me.
When I tried to be honest,
you tricked me.
When I tried to be civil,
you kicked me.
When I tried to understand,
you confused me.
When I tried to be strong,
you abused me.
When I tried to be fair,
you cheated me.
When I tried to compete,
you defeated me.
Who are you?
“I am loneliness….”

Lost and Found

I lost my freedom,
I found a dream.
I lost my options,
I found a theme.

I lost my rights,
I found nobility.
I lost my standing,
I found tranquility.

I lost my vision,
I found my cause.
I lost my ego,
I found my flaws.

I lost my privacy,
I found protection.
I lost my peace,
I found reflection.

I lost my grasp,
I found my might.
I lost my truth,
I found my light.

I lost my path,
I found a clue.
I lost my hope,
then I found you.

Bill Clark, 2003
Who can I turn to?

Who can I turn to?
When stress and anxiety attack me…
When pain and heartache overwhelm me…
When doubt and fear mislead me…

Who can I turn to?
When confusion and desperation frustrate me…
When hopelessness and mistrust detach me…
When lies and deceit disappoint me…

Who can I turn to?
When darkness and despair consume me…
When problems and worry baffle me…
When answers and solutions escape me…

When the weight of the world becomes too much to bear.
When life seems like a dreary, desolate island and
When the simple act of waking each morning becomes excruciating…
Who can I turn to?

That’s right…
I can always turn to you!
