"Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight Here one day, gone one night ..."

     — More from "Gone Too Soon"

On May 24th, many good-hearted people came to Huntsville, Texas, for the protest against the death penalty.

They held a rally at the Walls Unit, where the death house is located, and then caravanned to the prison cemetery where many executed death row inmates are buried.

We men and women of Texas Death Row THANK YOU.

For coming, caring, and bringing attention to what is happening here.

Let it be noted that guards have been heard talking about the event.

Not only were they surprised by the gathering, but embarrassed by the attention and it being pointed out as to what they are doing.

These same death row prison guards were heard to say that they were stared at and they didn't like it.

One male officer said he cussed them in his head.

The actions of a few, but growing number, are making a difference.

We appreciate all your work, time, and trouble.

We love you!

Like a comet blazing across the evening sky

Gone too soon

Like a rainbow fading in the twinkling of an eye

Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly, splendidly bright here one day, gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight on a cloudy afternoon

Gone too soon

Like a castle built upon a sandy beach

Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight

Here one day, gone one night

Like a sunset dying with the rising of the moon

Gone too soon, Gone too soon!
